What are some of your most memorable jumps.
Anybody who has more than one jump starts to have jumps that stand out over the others. Wether you have 5 jumps or 5,000 what are some of your most memorable. I have a little over 600 jumps and have many I was just thinking about. I will post a few of mine as I think of them Post yours -- 6/30/2009 8:48:40 AM: post edited by hack.

Re: What are some of your most memorable jumps.
One of my most memorable jumps was #12 I was having a really hard time with PRCP's I was quick draw kept trying to beat the static line and would bend at the waist every time. Finally Dana got with Gerry Shriner and they took me up to 10,500 feet and did a Level 1 Jump with me. I went out stiff as a board but as soon as i realized I had time I really relaxed, it felt great, my progression was much smoother from there.

Aside from my very first jump, that jump at Couch Freaks 2008 when the whole group bailed out of the Caravan.
We didn't get the formation completed but it was still a very cool jump. We should do that again this year.

Re: What are some of your most memorable jumps.
I have so many jumps that really stick out. Don't know the numbers but here are a few.. My first year at 1991 World Free Fall Convention. Showing up and seeing a C-130 to jump out of all week along with DC-3's, Otters and helicopters all at one event for 10 straight days... Some other jumps that stick out were jumping into down kc for 98.9 the rocks rock fest and going back stage and meeting lots of cool bands. To fly over 10 thousand concert fans and to hear them scream and yell was very cool. Another was jumping into my senior year high school homecoming football game with my dad in 1991 with just under 200 jumps. Another jump that was very memorable was jumping into america cablevision live for Vicks Tricks show and then doing a live interview only to get pied during which. I will have to ponder on more of my 19 years and over 5000 jumps lots of great memories and the people and traveling along the way have been fantastic. I can say that each and every jump has been very amazing and unique.

Jumping into the morning haze! Seeing the ground on exit then watching it fade away during freefall, only to see a solid layer of white for the entire fight….Hell I couldn’t even see my feet. This story is way to long to write….but way to cool to forget!

Re: What are some of your most memorable jumps.
Yeah, that was a scary jump..... Nothing like being at 180ft and still not having the ground in site..... Once I came through the FOG all I saw was an interstate with an 18 wheeler flying buy no time to turn just hope what was ahead was safe for landing. If had been anything I was going to hit or land on it. What luck it was for us on that jump. Only wish I had my camera on during that landing.

Re: What are some of your most memorable jumps.
Couch Freaks this year, my cut-away handle was kicked completely out during a spider exit from the Skyvan. I had no idea until I threw out my pilot chute around 3000' and realized my canopy was not connected to me at all. I pulled my reserve handle and was relieved to see my reserve fully inflate with no problems (Thanks Horseshoe). That was my first reserve ride-Good Times!

Wally, We were close to each other in training, but it only took a few hundred jumps for you to catch up to me on that stat.

Re: What are some of your most memorable jumps.
When I went to visit Chris at skydive Chicago many years ago he had a poster that showed a base jumper on a cliff looking at the wonders of the valley below. The caption underneath said “We don’t do these things to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping us.” That is so true, it’s always good to cheat death and be able to tell the story’s we have to tell.

Jump 21. First jump off student status. Borrowed rig. I threw out , pilot chute-n-tow, I hit the container - bag lock, I pull cut-a-way handle - pud comes off in my hand, pull reserve - round parachute, I have never been trained on a round - land down wind and flared!!!!!! I hit like a ton of bricks and flipped like no ones business.
