I thought I would send out an update of all the things going on for 2010 at SDKC. I first want to thank all our dedicated staff and pilots for a great season last year. For those of you that have not been out in a while you will find some nice additions this season. I decided at the end of last season to take 84B our first jump plane out of service and make some major upgrades. I'm leaving tomorrow to pick up the freshly overhauled wings with the new extensions. This will give us a much more efficient flying aircraft not to mention all new hardware keeping the plane in the most updated and safest condition. I'm scheduled for paint in late Feb. so this plane will look new with a custom paint scheme. On the equipment side as always we continue to offer the most advanced and newest gear around. I ordered all new Micro Sigma tandem systems with new main canopies, reserves and AAD's. This was a huge financial cost, however I feel we are giving the customer the very best in technology and safety. Several new mains, New helmets, jumpsuits are also in the works to roll out this year for our student program. The main Hanger will be getting new carpet and we are doing some renovations to the DZ bunk house to make it more useful.
We are currently also working with a local charity to sponsor a fundraising event that will be both good for the cause as well as to continue to promote our DZ with what we hope to be some great media coverage. We are planning this weekend with a turbine boogie so I will be more detailed in the weeks ahead to let you know just what we are doing and the dates. Either way 2010 is shaping up to be the best year yet for us.
Our season will kick off on Sat March 13th at 9am for our annual Safety Day this is for all "Licensed" jumpers and will run all day with some jumping that day weather permitting and Sun March 14th is our annual "Free" retrain day for all our 2009 students that made at least one static line jump with us. I will be posting more specifics in the weeks to come. Keep checking back in and I will keep you all informed as I know more. 8 weeks and counting till the start of the new season...
